James: This stems from a real conversation I had recently where I admitted that I always rooted for Tom of Tom& Jerry fame to the surprise of some. I had always thought of it as being something like a Cubs fan, rooting for the lovable loser to finally get a win. I hadn’t really considered that if Tom wins it means he kills and eats a sentient creature. It’s kinda like rooting for the shark in Jaws.
